This sadness makes my heart heavy.  It is wonderful to hear others' memories of Patti.  I have been thinking how I sit around and also dance at reunions and don't visit classmates as much as I could.  I recall Patti coming around for a chat during our most recent reunion - a special memory at this time and a lesson for the future.  These moments are ways she lives on.

This is the message I am sorry to pass on. Please continue caring and prayer for Patti's family. This Facebook message is from Friday evening:
"We are saddened to announce that Patti lost her battle with the coronavirus early this afternoon. We will try to plan a celebration of her life whenever we are allowed to gather in groups again. The family thanks you for all of your prayers and good wishes."

From late morning today. Patti's family must be so worried. Healing prayer, intention, love.
From the Facebook post:
"Good morning—The next 24-48 hours are going to be critical for Patti. She is still on the paralytic with 100 % oxygen and maximum pressure. They have added nitrous oxide (not sure if that is the correct gas or not) to open her lungs and make them function. Please keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming her way."

This is from Patti's son posting earlier today - probably late morning their time. It's sounding very serious, but I wanted to spread what is posted on Facebook.
Good morning, Friends and Family:

She as been put on a paralytic medicine. I've mentioned, in past posts, that she has been given more sedation to try to prevent her from getting agitated. When she gets agitated, her lungs get out of sync with the ventilator which is causing her to require higher ventilator settings. That's how we got to the PEEP setting of 18 and 100% oxygen. They can't safely turn the PEEP up much higher than 18. The paralytic is a drastic measure, but it will keep her body completely calm and allow her lungs to rest and recover.

Keep the prayers and positive energy coming!

From around 10 p.m. Arkansas time on Wednesday:
"Good evening:
She’s doing well on the paralytic. Her vitals are good and the ventilator settings are coming down. She’s at PEEP 14 and 90% oxygen. ??"

The most recent posting from Monday evening. How can we not feel the angst the family must be experiencing? Here's the latest:
Good evening:

She's going through a rough patch. They've had to go up significantly on the ventilator settings. PEEP 18 and 100% oxygen. It's not great news, but we remain optimistic. She's calm now and the nurse is going to try to bring the vent settings back down throughout the night.

Keep her in your thoughts!

From Sunday night:
"Mom’s nurse set up a FaceTime call for us this evening! We were able to talk to her and let her know that we all love her and are ready for her to get better. She’s still on about the same ventilator settings. The plan is to keep trying to reduce them until her lungs can do the work on their own. Today she didn’t tolerate the reduced support, but the nurses and doctors will keep trying."

From Monday afternoon on the update on Patti Facebook postings:
Good afternoon, Friends and Family:

She's hanging in there. The ventilator settings are: PEEP 14 & 80% oxygen. All they can do is keep her calm and sedated and wait for her lungs to heal.

Thank you for all the prayers!

Here's the most recent posting from Facebook. Keep praying and sending healing love.
"Good morning:

She started running a low grade fever last night (less than 101 F). They're doing some lab cultures to figure out what is causing it and have started a broad spectrum antibiotic. She's still sedated and calm. The ventilator settings are at PEEP 12 and FiO2 70.

Keep the positive energy flowing!"

Hello, All -
Perhpas Jim Carroll will post more if he's aware of news, but today he posted on Facebook that Patti Caver Jacuzzi is hospitalized and in ICU and diagnosed with COVID 19. He asked that we include Patti, her family, and medical staff in our thought and prayers. We can all join in sending whatever we hold as supportive - healing intentions, positive energy, prayer, thought blessings, imaged hugs.

Have a fine day and a blessed year. I'm wondering if you have made it to the retirement stage or if you continue to see clients. Whatever the case, may it feel like the right balance!
