Have been in the cosmetology school business since 1978

School Story:

The only male that attended MSM was Ronnie Bruno. He was dressed in our school uniform, wig and sat in classes for over 2 hours before Sister Francis found out. She chased him down the halls, and he got back into his English class at NLRHS before Sister Francis could call NLRHS Coach Burnett who was in charge of student discipline at the time. Coach Burnett went down to Ronnie's English class where he was sitting, a little out of breath but sitting and acting like he was learning!! Coach Burnett called Sister Francis back to inform her it could not have been him because he was in class. Do not know if she ever found out the truth. Ronnie went on to receive his law degree and was the NLRPDs attorney. He later ran for Judge. Mr. Bruno's grandfather started the Bruno's Little Italy Restaurants. Mr. Bruno past away in 1994.

As a woman serving in the  Vietnam era, I found that I was where I needed to be at the time.  My senior trip gift from my parents took me took me to Washington DC and  seeing all of those white headstones from Vietnam made me want to volunteer as I did.  I worked with the Pilot  Training Squadron out of Keesler AFB.  It was at this time I realized what a big picture the world really was.  It saddens me too, that we trained Iranians, which at the time was our friend.  Not so much 50 years later.  Yes, those who served were brave.  Those who died their families still carry on the hurt of their soldier's ultimate sacrifice.  I am so proud that I was able to serve.  It made my prospective of what is truly important in life so clear.

Happy Birthday. I am finding it funny that so many of the MSM/CHS grads followed the same career path, Retired. I look forward to joining the ranks. Take care, and look forward to seeing you in October.

Oh Karen you made me smile. I forgot about Sr. Helen. More than once she would start the class by saying, "All those absent please stand up." Little did I know the nuns formed many of my traits, and one of them being my quick sense of humor !!!!!! Thank you Sr. Helen!!!
I also remembered Sr. Jacques. (Now Sr. Mary Ann). My whole senior year in Marriage and Family Living, it was hard for me to wrap around the thought of
a nun telling me about Marriage, but I listened and followed many of her suggestions, and I guess it worked. Ken and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary this year. I know you taught this class, as did I, and to take on such a responsibility as Sr. Jacques with senior girls, well I think we both need a pat on the back. I know you experienced nostalgia as did I when I returned to teach at MSM. To be on the teaching side of the desk was eerie to say the least!!!

Sounds like a helpful gift for the class of 65 would be a box of Nioxin. Formulated by LSU Medical School for Cancer patients to regrow lost hair due to Chemo. It worked so well that LSU patented it and it is now sold to the public. Working with Senior Citizens in the Cosmetology field I see daily the results of this 3 step product. They swear by it. It can be purchased from any professional salon that uses it, and it may be found on line. It cost around $40 . 3 bottles, and the product will last about 6 months. Easy to use and the results are new hair growth as long as the hair has not been dormant longer than 7 to 8 years. Good luck and good hair growing!!!! Consider this information my contribution to the class of 65!!!!
